A Memory From Early Childhood

by Goker Kececioglu*

I was so young that I do not even remember how old I was but I remember my conversation with daddy and all its details. We were walking on the sidewalks and I was holding his finger instead of holding his hand.My hands were very very little when they are compared to daddy's ^_^

I do remember what I was asking him to buy me.Everyday we go out together, I was asking him to buy me a computer...It was first years of computers and it was really so hard to get one :D

It was a sunny day and when we are walking back home from the park I asked daddy to buy me a computer. He was talking to me as if I am as wise and old as himself. He told me "My Dear Son, talking is cheap, promising is easy. And the hard thing is making them come true. I would promise you now and wait you to forget or change your mind about it. But I do not want to make you dream because if you have dream about something you cannot reach you would just be disappointed..." I was sad and when I close my eyes I can remember the way my face looked like. I thought that he was just ignoring my wills but when I become older I understood him very well...

Why do I tell that to you???

Because I want you to know the truth of life too. So both you and the ones you love would be in better relationships. Moms and Daughters, Dads and Sons, Brothers and Sisters, even Friends :)

Talking is cheap, promising is easy. And the hard thing is making them come true. So before you do promise think once more ;)

*Goker is one of my good friends whom I used to talk with. A Turkish who is sooo patient, caring and mature and he never dares to hurt anyone. May Allah bless you, Gok :)
